I have always loved bright and shiny things - especially people : ) So, it makes sense that I am currently coveting all things metallic!!! Gold, silver, copper, brass (yes 1984 brass), rose gold, platinum - you name it, and I want it! This trend is HUGE right now and I don't see it ending anytime soon. Next time you are shopping take note of how much metals are center stage on almost every product category imaginable from fashion to baby bedding to bags to bathing suits! I always notice that a trend has really arrived when it enters into markets that previously we would never think acceptable - think about the color gray - when I was having my little ones I would NEVER have thought of that color for a nursery! Now, it is the hottest palette around for infant bedding, clothing and decor. I feel like gold is enjoying that modern moment right now too especially when it's paired with mint green, ivory, blush, or gray. I love the pop of glam with the soft hues. Below is a mini trend board that I used for inspiration during my design phase:
My Heavy Metal collection boasts simple, clean geometric shapes that allows the metallic gold to be the star. When designing the patterns, I wanted them to be ageless and bold so that they could be used for a myriad of projects. I thought of people using the fabric to create accent pillows, a summer clutch purse, an adorable summer dress, or a striking bumper and crib set. I added in a subtle ivory linen texture behind the prints to add depth and interest too. The possibilites are endless and of course bright and shiny!
You truly have to see this collection in person to appreciate how gorgeous and striking the gold and silver metallic is on the fabric. Sooooo, I am giving away a fat quarter bundle of this luscious collection to one lucky winner next week! Here are the deets:
